377 days and 71 posts later, I still wake up each morning consumed by the desire to write about travel. As I rifle through my treasure trove of old photos and faded journals, I realized that I have sterling memories waiting to be unearthed.
Today, in the midst of a winter storm, I remember how a lucid summer sun fell on earth and danced upon ordinary objects in a tapestry of light and shadow.

It might have been my rambunctious 2-year-old girl, a messy 16-month-long home renovation or tens of boxes of stuff in storage, but my life is in constant ebb and flow. Only when I look at my collection of travel photos, and I remember how the light fell ever-so-beautifully that day, that some latent serenity hushes me. Like ice caps on mountain tops in spring time, it melts away all the day's sorrows...
P.S. Thank you to everyone who supports Folie a Deux. I have gotten some comments that there were some problems when subscribing to Folie a Deux via Google Reader or other engines. I think I have resolved it. I hope. So, please do not give up on me, for you have brightened my life so, and I'd hate to lose you! Also, I am very grateful to all who have been voting for me at the 2008 Weblog Awards.

Hi Jen,
I love your blog. I will be one of your admirers now ,impressed how good a writer you are. Hope you don't mind me printing 55 pages of your blog for your parents. Since they won't have access to your travel blog.

Ravello is such a beautiful and peaceful place to relax, read, or write. Quite a few writers have used it as their base for penning their works.
We are in the middle of a blizzard here as well as I look longingly at my photos of Brazil and Barbados and try to recapture the sun! Travel does that, it never leaves you even when your trip is long over with. I'm voting for your blog today!
Chiara Kael,
I don't like winter very much!
Dana,
Thanks for your vote!
Tita Lingget,
I'm so honoured that you are reading my blog! Please keep on reading and supporting me. I hope I am making you feel like on vacation all the time...
Gennaro,
I am so in love with Ravello! It is a very elegant town!
Fly Girl,
I agree with you. When I'm feeling blue, I look at my photos and somehow, I find inspiration in them. I've been at your blog and have seen photos of Barbados! Very nice!
hi jen!

Jen,
Good luck and Happy New Year!
Hi Jen! New Year, Old Troubles... No, I’m not talking about the frosty weather, just the office... Another hectic week! ;)
Lovely pictures and posts! Loved to see the book of Alain de Botton on your shelf...
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, now with new posts on Delhi! Enjoy and have a great week!
Beautiful pictures and your words do them justice! I hope you're thawing out in the winter :)
jen you do have some beautiful photography. I really like these ones with the lighting. I can understand why you are still driven to write when you can capture the scene so wonderfully.
